Making Jesus Christ known to every student in Durham

St Aidan's College

St. Aidan’s CU meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 until about 9, usually in the Garden Room in college (between the dining hall and B Curve), but sometimes in the Chapel or occasionally, when we’re feeling very adventurous, outside. For the first hour or so of CU we form Impact groups, which are small groups led by Jeremy and Tom , and within these groups we have a time of Bible study and prayer designed to challenge and encourage us as we live out our Christian lives in college and in the university as a whole. After Impact, we come together for group activities, which are different every week, but generally involve something along the lines of games, quizzes, songs, prayer time or a special guest talk.  We also have college prayer meetings on Monday mornings when there isn’t a central prayer meeting, and we put on special events once or twice a term. CU is a great place to meet and fellowship with other Christians at Aidan’s, and we have a lot of fun together! If you’d like to know more about Aidan’s CU, email Zach (z.j.blunden-codd@dur.ac.uk) or Claire (c.r.davison@dur.ac.uk) or find us on facebook- we’d love to hear from you!

I'm Claire Davison, and I study English. I'm English, but I’ve lived in America since I was 11, in a town called Long Valley, which is about 50 miles south of New York. It’s very pretty, but there’s not much there apart from trees and lots and lots of houses, so Durham seems very urban to me! In my spare time, I enjoy reading (especially Jane Austen and C.S. Lewis), running, swimming, writing letters, going to playgrounds, and sitting on Prebends bridge.

I'm Zach Blunden-Codd and I come from a little seaside resort called Bognor Regis, (about 71.2 miles south of London, by the fastest route). I don't have quite as much free time as Claire since I am a Natural Scientist (not an Anglicist), which in my case means I study Maths and Physics. Since joining Durham I have taken up rowing which is great fun and I also enjoy rambling, reading, rejoicing, relaxing, reminiscing and running. I look forward to meeting all you new Aidanites.
